Honey Cinnamon Roll

Ingredients

Batter:

  • 2 cup toasted walnuts

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 12 sheets phyllo dough

  • ½ cup melted butter

Syrup:

  • ½ cup honey

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F

  2. Combine walnuts, ¼ cup sugar and cinnamon.

  3. Place 1 sheet of phyllo dough on waxed paper; brush with butter

  4. Place a second phyllo sheet on top and brush with butter

  5. Keep remaining phyllo covered with a damp towel

  6. Sprinkle with ¼ cup walnut mixture

  7. Using waxed paper, roll tightly starting with a long side, removing paper as you roll

  8. Slice roll into 4 pieces

  9. Transfer to a greased 13x9 baking dish

  10. Repeat with remaining phyllo dough and walnut mixture by ¼ cups

  11. Bake 14-16 min

  12. Combine ½ c honey, ½ c sugar, ½ c water and 1 tbsp lemon juice in a saucepan

  13. Bring to a boil

  14. Reduce heat

  15. Simmer 5 min

  16. Cool 10 min

  17. Drizzle over rolls and sprinkle with remaining walnut mixture
